Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry includes services such as Whitening, Bonding, Veneers, and Porcelain Crowns. Below is more info on cosmetic dentistry topics...

Whitening:

Teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic dental procedure in the world today. Whitening removes organic stains or discolorations primarily caused by aging, certain foods and tobacco use.

Whiten your teeth with our at-home products. Generally, whitening your teeth every four to six months offers optimal results.

• We provide you with a whitening tray and whitening agent to use at home.

• Convenience: You can do home whitening at any time of the day or night, for short

   or long periods.

• Portability: You can also use at-home whitening trays while on the go or at work.

Cosmetic Bonding:

Cosmetic bonding is the art of using tooth-colored filling material to improve the cosmetic appearance of your teeth. This treatment can often be used as an alternative to more expensive porcelain veneers.

Porcelain Veneers:

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.

Placing custom veneers requires a high degree of technical skill as well as attention to cosmetic detail. I place veneers routinely, and design each case individually to match and enhance the characteristics of each patient's smile.

Will Porcelain Veneers look like natural teeth?

When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

How durable are porcelain veneers?

With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade. I will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available. Refraining from using your veneers as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life, and if accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the veneer involved.

All Porcelain Crowns:

Often old porcelain crowns can look too opaque and have a dark area at the gumline. The good news is we can now make porcelain crowns that have no metal, look just like natural teeth, and are durable. If you have old crowns that look like crowns consider having them replaced. Our goal is to make your teeth look like teeth, not like dental work.

Crowns or “caps” cover your tooth and provide protection from further breakage.

Fillings are good for repairing teeth that are strong and can hold in a filling. When the tooth becomes week due to decay or fracture a crown is needed to hold the tooth together against biting forces. In other words a filling is held in by the surrounding tooth and relies on the strength of the tooth. On the other hand a crown holds the tooth together.

In order to do a crown Dr. Ilustre will remove the weakened part of your tooth and replace it with an all porcelain crown. The day of the gold or metal crowns is over and now we have beautiful strong porcelain crowns to restore health, function, and beauty to your smile.
