A dental implant is simply a man-made tooth root. The implant is made of titanium and is carefully placed in the bone where the tooth was lost. Dental implants are the best and most predictable way to replace a missing tooth. They can be used to replace one or a whole set of teeth. If a tooth is being removed many times a bone graft will be placed at the time of removal to allow the placement of an implant after the area heals.
